The visiting hours and rules are determined with a view to ensuring orderly and effective hospitalization, ensuring the hygiene and safety of recipients of health services and Hospital staff, and taking measures to prevent the transmission of respiratory and other infections.
The visiting hours are strictly observed and are as follows:
A) Outpatient Clinics: The patient comes for examination accompanied by a companion, if he wishes.
B) Patient Wards:
Weekdays: afternoon 18.00 – 18.30 (summer 19.30 – 20.00)
Saturday-Sunday-Holidays: 12.00 – 12.30 and 18.00 – 18.30 (summer 19.30-20.00)
C) Intensive Care Unit: morning12.00 – 12.30.
D) Heart Attack Unit: in consultation with the staff.
E) Blood donation: 08.00 – 18.00 daily.
Stay of relatives/accompanists
- During a medical visit, when performing medical and nursing procedures or whenever requested by the staff, you must comply with the instruction to leave the hospital ward.
- Staying in patient wards outside visiting hours is not allowed.
- Children under 10 years of age are not allowed to enter – Children and adolescents up to 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- The use of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes (Law 3730/2008 and Law 4419/2016) and the consumption of alcohol are not allowed in all areas of the Hospital.
- Relatives/patients are not allowed to enter staff work areas.
- Relatives/accompanists are not allowed to stay during breastfeeding.
- In the event that during hospitalization there is a need to use a caregiver, the nursing staff (Office of the Director of Nursing Services – Ground Floor) should be informed, so that an authorized caregiver can be called.
Informing patients/relatives/accompanists
Patients/relatives/companions are informed by the treating physician, following the schedule set each time.
Breastfeeding Room
Operates at the main entrance – Key is provided by the Nursing Service Directorate.
MASK USE
Mandatory use of a simple surgical mask by visitors/accompaniments/relatives who come into contact with patients.
HAND HYGIENE
Mandatory use of hand hygiene measures by visitors/accompaniments/relatives – Application of alcohol-based antiseptic in patient wards and in common areas.
Rapid Test CONTROL
Subject to rapid detection of SARS COV-2 coronavirus antigen (rapid test):
- Patients admitted with a regular ticket (scheduled admission) arrive with a rapid test performed up to twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled admission. It is repeated during hospitalization if deemed necessary by the attending physician.
- Patients admitted on an emergency basis (emergency admission) are immediately subject to a rapid test in the Emergency Department and the result is recorded in the individual hospital file (ED hospital history).
- During preoperative screening – The rapid test result will accompany the patient’s file in the operating room.
- When admitting patients for chemotherapy or special treatments.
- When admitting patients for endoscopies (bronchoscopies and gastroscopies/colonoscopies).
- Patients who visit for a regular examination (regular appointment) in the Pulmonology, ENT and Dental Clinic (within 24 hours).
- Visitors/accompaniments/relatives who remain in the patient wards beyond visiting hours.
- One companion per patient (with special permission from the attending physician and issuance of a signed individual card by the Head Nurse of the Clinic)
- One companion per patient in cases of seriously ill patients who require continuous care – In this case, the companion may be alternated (the companion or companions receive special permission from the attending physician and an individual card is issued by the Head Nurse of the clinic)
- Up to two (2) companions per pediatric patient (with special permission from the attending physician and/or issuance of an individual card by the Head Nurse)
- In particular, in cases of patients who will undergo surgery, strict adherence to the measures (mandatory use of a mask and negative rapid test)
- The Head A nurse at each Clinic records the remaining companions/relatives on a daily basis and provides a copy to the Concierge.
- The offering of flowers (pots, etc.), ready-made food, etc. is not permitted, as they are a breeding ground for germs.
- The food trays are transferred immediately (after consuming the meal/dinner) to the special areas, to be collected by the catering staff.
NOTES:
- The companions/relatives of hospitalized patients, regardless of their vaccination or disease status, are subject to a rapid test before their entry. The test is repeated every three (3) days.
- The entry and stay of companions/relatives who show symptoms of respiratory infection is not permitted regardless of the result if the rapid test result is negative.
- Nursing staff provides a signed individual card to companions/relatives who remain with hospitalized patients, which they show at the concierge.

Allowed with demonstration of a negative rapid test (within 24 hours) without interrupting the medical visit and the activity of the Clinic. In any case, without symptoms of respiratory infection despite the negative rapid test.
Entry to vendors and professionals for the purpose of promoting their products is NOT allowed.
For the convenience of patients, companions/visitors, a team of the National Public Health Organization (EODY) conducts rapid tests outside the entrance to the Emergency Department every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 09.00 to 14.00.
The Hospital Infections Committee is responsible for monitoring the protection measures, in collaboration with the heads of Services/Directors/Sectors/Heads of Departments/Managers, to specify instructions for the purpose of assessing the severity of the consequences in the Hospital, classifying the risk and prioritizing ways and methods of dealing with the possible spread of the coronavirus.
